About BioCytara
Science-Driven Innovation. Patient-Focused Development.
Our mission is to advance cancer therapies that combine meaningful antitumor activity with improved treatment tolerability, addressing the needs of patients who cannot receive conventional intensive cancer therapy.
Our lead development program centers on Aspacytarabine (BST-236), an investigational cytarabine prodrug with an established clinical research history and promising results in patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
Our Mission
To develop innovative cancer treatments that address significant unmet medical needs by improving drug delivery, reducing treatment-limiting toxicity, and expanding therapeutic opportunities.
Our Vision
To become a recognized biopharmaceutical company specializing in differentiated cancer therapies that improve the balance between efficacy, safety, and patient quality of life.
Our Story
Aspacytarabine originated from a scientific approach to improving the therapeutic characteristics of cytarabine, one of the most widely used chemotherapy agents in hematological malignancies.
Through years of pharmaceutical research and clinical development originally undertaken by BioSight, Aspacytarabine progressed from drug design and preclinical evaluation to clinical studies involving patients with AML.
These studies generated valuable evidence supporting the potential of Aspacytarabine to deliver clinically active cytarabine exposure in patient populations traditionally considered unsuitable for intensive cancer therapy.
BioCytara’s strategy builds upon this scientific and clinical foundation, focusing on further development, regulatory advancement, and the potential commercialization of Aspacytarabine.
Our Development Strategy
BioCytara intends to pursue a milestone-driven development program.
Our near-term objectives include advancing a pivotal clinical development strategy for Aspacytarabine in Israel, engaging with regulatory authorities, and preparing the pharmaceutical and clinical infrastructure needed for registration.
Our longer-term strategy includes pursuing regulatory pathways in Europe and United States, expanding potential applications of Aspacytarabine, and establishing international pharmaceutical partnerships.
Our Commitment
BioCytara is committed to responsible scientific development, clinical research integrity, and transparent communication.
We recognize that bringing new treatments to patients requires rigorous evidence, strong clinical partnerships, regulatory compliance, and continued investment in research.
